Patriotism is a moral matter
Patriotism is an ethical matter, one of values. It consists in seeking the unity and continuity of Spain, the quantity and quality of life of future generations of Spaniards; it is a matter of equality with those who will come, those who will form the Spain in which we do not now live. Ethics identifies and separates good from bad. It has three levels: the personal one with what is good for us; the community one with what is good for others; and that with what is good for the transcendental purpose of life, which might be a religion that addresses everything, art, science or meditation, patriotism, family or sport.
I do not know any patriotic communist. There may be some, but I am still to find them. They are easy to pick out. They wish everything to be public, and even them having private properties. So they want everything to be public for everyone else. This ideology is based on being jealous of and resenting those they call the wealthy because they know they own private properties. When communists govern, they generally become wealthier, continuously deceive with their discourse and defend the poor (to gain their votes), but they live like the wealthy. It is no easy task being patriotic and statist (in favour of a visible state with a huge public sector) because it is simply not feasible. The bigger the public sector, the more taxes are needed and corruption flourishes, and they stifle private activities due to tax squandering. The only difference between socialism and communism is to use force to submit the population. Tax coercion aims to remove private properties, what they call distributing wealth, but without generating wealth. They keep large masses of poor dependent people and squander property owners, which they rank as having freedom.
Spanish socialism changed with President Zapatero in 2004, who embarked on the Sao Pablo, Puebla group by perpetuating power through cultural hegemony, and controlling educational contents and the mass media. A collateral effect is that PP has become a socio-democratic party (save the liberal oasis that Madrid is).
Although PSOE does not properly govern, it has managed (thanks to PP´s carelessness) to eliminate any spiritual transcendence from educational contents in Spanish public education. In growing separatist areas like Catalonia, the Basque Country, Navarre, Galicia, the Balearics and the Valencian Community, indoctrination against Spain takes place by linguistic drive and by applying gender ideologies that go against the natural family.
Maintaining the tradition of what is good involves taking a dose of faith and hope. It is a matter to do with what is transcendental over time, and with what is immanent in space. Being patriotic is being in favour of past, present and future Spaniards by maintaining what worked in the past so that future generations do not become significantly worse than us. This is what hoisting a flag at home means. This is the horizon, which means being belligerent against anyone who aims to do away with this intergenerational equality, and it should also be constitutional. It is a matter of equality over time and of not becoming worse.
The populist trend of the Zapatero, Rajoy and Sánchez governments to get Spain in debt for two decades has multiplied Spanish public debt by 4. This is a scandalous fact of inequality for future generations, caused mainly by socialist governments that boast seeking equality, but remove it by force from the most efficient by making them pay taxes while subsidising others to vote them. This redistribution, as they call it, is just a huge lie, like that of trade unions UGT and CC.OO protecting the unemployed when they actually protect civil servants, central governments and Spanish Autonomous Governments in exchange for subsidies. lo que sobre protegen es a los empleados públicos, y a los gobiernos centrales y autonómicos a cambio de subvenciones.
Technology and digitisation allow many public administration workers to be gently removed from the system by amortising retirements. An efficient state does not necessarily have to be a big one. How has having seven civil servants for every 100 inhabitants helped Valencian people in the 2024 Cold Drop weather phenomenon? They are not seen maintaining riverbeds or cleaning the forests that burn every summer. They do not carry out tasks designed to avoid these dramas from happening again. Why? The large state is inefficient and generates corruption. El Estado grande no es eficiente, y genera corrupción.
An efficient government is one that goes unnoticed, as if it did not exist, and does not have a liar and a narcissist of a president who does not make the right decisions, who says that floods are caused by climate change. The government also says that summer forest fires are due to climate change, when cold drops happen every autumn in the Mediterranean and have caused tragedies every 20 years for centuries. Agenda 2030 laws allow neither water infrastructures to be prepared to avoid floods nor forests to be cleaned to prevent fires.
Socialism offers no way to manage other than spending to buy volunteers and to eliminate private activities by tax squandering. As wealth is not generated (the DGP has not grown after deducting inflation since 2004 and the private sector works fewer hours), the result is gradual impoverishment and society becoming nationalised. PSOE has increasingly fewer votes, but allies with true antipatriotic groups, such as separatists and laundered terrorists, and still governs at the expense of destroying the weak democracy we have by crushing separation of powers, pardoning separatist criminals, inventing an official tale, but covering up all kinds of generated corruption that involves the government.
To remain in power, today’s PSOE uses cultural hegemony and occupies institutions. It has intervened in RTVE (national Radio+TV), the Army, Public Prosecutors, Courts, the Spanish Centre for Sociological Research (CIS), the Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE), the Bank of Spain, public universities through CRUE (Rectors), academies and ministerial agencies. We live a weak dictatorship (for the time being), in which 1,100 university graduates emigrate every day because economic activities are lacking. Almost all youths go to public university nearly for free (subsidised up to 80%). They avoid doing any work that soils their hands and only wish to do the work of high and mighty civil servants, which is encouraged and is the best paid work by roughly 30% on average according to Inland Revenue. Who benefits?; civil servants, politicians and separatists, who sustain the government.
Having achieved cultural hegemony, the government is supported by civil servants regardless of them being aware or unaware socialists, and by mass media. All this has led to an ethically and spiritually empty society that is materially ruined, and whose living conditions are becoming gradually worse because interests on debt are increasingly taken from state budgets.
Enough votes are given by 3.5 million public employees and 10 million civil servants to convert the weak 1978 democracy into a weak dictatorship supported by the antipatriotic. Monopoly of force is exercised to favour the government and, as in Venezuela, light cannot be seen for so much darkness and so much tagging along like sheep by voting as if voters were fervent fans. For the time being, the difference lies in the high rate at which people emigrate, but emigration has also taken place within Spain with people fleeing from separatist areas because of the permitted harassment by the central Administration against those who do not adhere to separatism. More than 200,000 families left Vascongadas for being threatened and harassed by terrorist group ETA. No-one knows how many have left Catalonia. The old commercial power of Catalonia and Vascongadas has disappeared, but they continue with their privileges based on blackmail and governments’ financing that pay no matter what to remain in power.
As the visit to the Valencian areas affected by the cold drop paid by the president of the government demonstrated, ordinary people cannot stand Sánchez because they have found out what an unethical liar he is. Only those who are afraid and those who climb upwardly without respecting their native land put up with him.
